FIRST NEW HOMES AT HIMLEY VILLAGE AVAILABLE IN 2018
Factory to be built at Bicester for modular construction.
The P3 Group submitted an outline planning application for "Himley Village" covering some 250 acres within the overall eco town site to Cherwell District Council in December 2014. Himley Village will contain 1,700 new homes, a hotel, a village centre, a farm school and a range of other uses including a 100 unit retirement village set within a landscaped environment of the highest quality. The application was approved by Cherwell in March 2017, and the planning agreement is being finalised and the first new homes will be available at Himley in 2018.
P3 has established a consortium ready to deliver new housing and other facilities at Himley Village and to do so quickly. It is the intention to use modular construction techniques which is a more rapid and efficient form of construction compared to traditional builds. The modular units will be delivered from a new factory to be built at Bicester together with a related R&D facility and an Apprenticeship Academy. This will establish Bicester as a national centre of excellence leading the offsite modular construction revolution which is the future for mass house building. The facility would provide high quality permanent and skilled jobs, together with real career paths all the way from apprenticeship to senior management.
P3’s consortium partners are already active in modular development elsewhere in the UK demonstrating the high technical specification and design quality of the completed new homes, and the rapid build out rate which is being achieved elsewhere by dint of modular construction.
